Sulkava offers diverse and comprehensive sports facilities and opportunities. Fitness paths are located close to the population centre of the municipality, and the various hiking routes, skiing tracks and nature paths covering the entire municipality are in active use.

The sports fields and tennis courts serve both the local residents and holiday residents.
In the winter, the small ball field of the school is frozen for skating.

Reservations for the sports hall and key cards are available from the Sulkava library. Key cards are also available from the kiosk Alanteen Helmi.

Sports facilities (both indoor and outdoor) are maintained by Järvi-Saimaan Palvelut Oy.

Municipal exercise activities are organized by Sulkavan Urheilijat -41 ry.

The municipality supports sports clubs, organizations and associations that organize sports events.

Sports events and competitions are organized by, for example, Sulkavan Urheilijat SU41, Tunnilan Lento, Kaipolan Kiista, Sulkavan Naisvoimistelijat, Sulkavan Moottorikerho/Urheiluautoilijat, Sulkavan Tarmo, Lohikosken Kisa-Veikot, and Lohikosken Lohi. The events often feature various sports demonstrations.
